In-Process Quality Engineer

We are looking for an In-Process Quality Engineer to join our Quality team and safeguard product quality directly on the manufacturing line. This role monitors the process in real time, catching deviations before they turn into defects, and works hand-in-hand with production to keep output within specification. You will spend the majority of your time on the shop floor rather than at a desk, moving between assembly stations, checking parameters, and reacting quickly when something drifts out of range.
This is a high-visibility role because in-process quality directly determines how much rework, scrap, and customer complaints the business sees downstream, so your judgment calls matter. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing production's push for speed with quality's need for conformance, and can communicate firmly but constructively with shift supervisors when a line needs to pause. This role reports into the Quality function and offers a strong foundation for growth into process quality, SPC, or QMS roles.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production line quality in real time through sampling and in-process checks
- Conduct statistical/parameter checks during assembly to ensure conformance to specification
- Maintain in-process quality documentation, checksheets, and shift reports
- Coordinate with production supervisors on line stoppage/rework decisions
- Support new product/process introduction quality checks
Must Have
- 2-3 years of experience in in-process/line quality inspection
- Diploma/B.Tech in a relevant engineering discipline
- Familiarity with manufacturing line quality checks and SOPs
- Basic statistical/sampling knowledge
- Ability to read process control documents and work instructions
Nice to have
- Exposure to SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Experience in electronics/inverter assembly quality
- Knowledge of non-conformance/CAPA processes
- Strong analytical skills
